Seeing inside buildings that the public would not normally expect to get access to. Also the information that accompanied the visits.

I was Diane’s first and only client for the Friday afternoon tour. The tour still operated with just me. Diane’s enthusiasm, knowledge and love of her home town really shone through. The tour was three hours, but definitely did not feel that long. The walk was easy and interesting. I was taken inside buildings to see the grandeur of the interior, and told about the history of the building, who had lived there etc. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around Battery Point and seeing Arthur Circus. I would definitely recommend this walking tour of Hobart. Well done Diane and thank you.

This was a great tour, we did this a few days after being in Hobart and didnt realise the history we were walking past. John was our tour guide, very knowledgeable about the history of Hobart. Showed us some very interesting parts hidden in the Salamanca area, Battery Point walk opened our eyes to a historic part of town. Would highly recommend and would suggest at the start of your visit so you can go back and explore across your visit.

Our guide Maggie was a lovely lady who knew Hobart & Battery Point so well We even went up to the 3rd floor of an Old Whale Captains Home where they would first see ships from London coming into port or returning home from their whaling trips out to sea Wonderful. One of the highlights of our Hobart stay Stuart Port Macquarie NSW

I chose this trip because I knew nothing about Hobart or its history. This was the perfect tour to do. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and had a great love for Hobart. The highlight was Battery Point a very interesting and beautiful area of Hobart filled with old seafarers cottages. I learnt things from John on the tour I would have never discovered wandering around on my own. Highly Recommended.

Bill provided insight into the colonial history of Hobart in the early days around the city and Battery Point. He shared information about buildings, the people, and the British government systems that existed in the early colonial history. IT was an interesting tour. Limited information was shared about the Aboriginal population of Hobart. The distance and speed of the tour were easy for those that are able to walk a few kilometers.

This was a very informative tour. Jennifer was a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide. Many of the places she took us we could not have found or experienced on our own. (We backed this tour up with their 1.5 hour historic pub tour with vivacious Maggie. It was lots of walking too albeit it with stops for drinks at the start and end but the effort was well worth it.) A couple of days after this tour, we visited Old Hobart Town in Richmond (a miniature replica of Hobart as it was in the 1820's) and it was the knowledge gained from both Hobart Walking Tours that allowed us to comprehend what we saw there. Be warned, the Grand Hobart Walking Tour is 3 hours of standing, walking and climbing steps but if are up to it and Hobart history interests you...don't pass this tour by. If you join the tour well prepared for rain, wind, sun and cold and have comfortable walking shoes, the knowledge you acquire about Hobart will be extensive and enjoyably attained.

To be completely honest, this tour was a little boring - sorry. We typically love walking tours but didn't really enjoy this one. To top it off, having nothing whatsoever to do with the tour, it rained buckets causing us to abandon the second half of the tour and head back to the ship.
